You are invited to Chamber Music Sedona’s Spring Music Festival—a time for magical music in the red rocks!
This year’s featured performers include the Speltz Family and Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt. David Speltz (cello) and Connie Kupka-Speltz (viola and violin) are active performers in several motion picture studios’ orchestras. Connie Kupka-Speltz performs with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. David and Connie’s sons, Brook (cello) and Brendan (violin), have performed with Pacific Serenades and at the UCLA Faculty Center. Throughout the festival, these distinguished musicians will share their music with young musicians and at school assemblies in the community. Brook and Brendan contribute their free time to mentoring younger string performers at classical music summer camps in Southern California.
On Wednesday, April 5, there will be a presentation at the Sedona International Film Festival.
The Spring Salon Musicale will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 5:30 P.M. At this salon, you will have the amazing opportunity to meet the festival’s featured performers.
On Sunday, April 9 at 2:30 P.M., Ms. Van de Stadt and the Speltz Family will take the stage of the Sedona Performing Arts Center to play an intriguing program of traditional chamber music. Violinist/violist, Connie Kupka, will perform a Beethoven duet with her husband, cellist David Speltz. Their sons, Brendan and Brook, will then perform a duet by Ravel. As a quartet, the Speltz Family will then perform Arensky’s Quartet No. 2 arranged for two celli. Dover Quartet violist Milena Pajerno van der Stadt joins the family to perform the final piece, Schubert’s Cello Quintet.
